Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, Starsmore Discovery Center and Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center will remain open throughout 2010, thanks to private donations. The City of Colorado Springs only funded the sites through the first quarter of the year, but cut funding for the remainder of the year because of a budget shortfall.

"We are extremely grateful for the generosity and the hard work of all of our friends groups," says Cultural Services Manager Matt Mayberry. "Without their fundraising efforts, we could not continue to fulfill our mission of preserving and interpreting the cultural and natural history of the Pikes Peak Region."

All funding for interpretive and safety patrol programs at Garden of the Gods is provided by the Friends of Garden of the Gods and Garden of the Gods Foundation.
