Dr. Tony Kinkel, president of Pikes Peak Community College, resigned Thursday. He cited "new opportunities" for his decision.

Cliff Richardson, vice-president of Finance and Administration for the Colorado Community College System, will serve as interim president of PPCC.

Dr. Kinkel joined the college in Feb. 2007. He took over from Dr. Joe Garcia, who left to take the helm at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Dr. Garcia is now on leave from the university as he runs for Lt. Gov. on the democratic ticket.
