The White House has confirmed that President Barack Obama will visit Colorado in February to attend an event with U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet.

White House spokesman Adam Abrams said Thursday that the details are still being worked out.

Bennet was appointed by fellow Democrat Gov. Bill Ritter to the Senate last year to complete Ken Salazar's term. Obama appointed Salazar as Interior secretary.

Bennet is running for election and faces former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff in the primary. Former Colorado Lt. Gov. Jane Norton and Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck are among roughly at least a half dozen Republican candidates.
