Even as he praises the U.N. Security Council for approving new sanctions against Iran today, President Barack Obama says the door to diplomacy remains open.
He says he'd like nothing more than to see Iran answer all of the questions about its nuclear program, so that the sanctions can be lifted. The council today approved new sanctions against Iran that target the country's powerful Revolutionary Guard, ballistic missiles, and nuclear-related investments.
Obama called them the toughest sanctions ever faced by the Iranian government, even though the final version was not as tough as what his administration initially proposed.
