Mountain View Electric has announced that power has been restored to nearly 200 customers in eastern El Paso County after an electrical storm caused damage to transmission lines near Peyton. Earlier Saturday morning power was lost as a result of damage done from an electrical storm late Friday night.

Daryl Edwards from Mountain View Electric said that repairs to the damaged line are still pending but because they can re-route power through redundant systems, power was restored to the area fairly quickly.

Peyton Fire Department had responded to a small grass fire that was caused by the damaged lines but not structures were ever threatened.
