A 24-year-old woman in Colorado Springs was arrested after police say she attacked them Saturday night. 24-year-old Jana Hayman was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on charges of first and second degree assault on a peace officer.
Police were called to the 900 block of N. 19th St. around 10 p.m. to reports of a woman screaming and the sound of things being broken. When an officer arrived, police say in their report that Hayman became confrontational, yelling profanities at the officer. Back up arrived and police say they handcuffed Hayman to put her in the back of a police cruiser, but she was able to slip one of her wrists out of the handcuffs.
Booking information at the Criminal Justice Center lists Hayman as 4'11'' and 95 pounds.
Police say Hayman began kicking the rear window of the police car. They tried to reattach her handcuff, but they say that's when she began trying to fight them. The police report says Hayman tried to punch an officer in the face and at one point kicked an officer in the face two to three times.
