Police warn of attempted child abduction in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS- A warning tonight for parents, after Colorado Springs Police say there was an attempted child abduction on the city's northeast side.

Officers from the Falcon Division responded to The Classical Academy at 975 Stout Rd. to investigate suspicious circumstances. A 9 year-old male reported he was walking eastbound in the parking lot of The Classical Academy when a middle aged male, sitting in a brown rusty full-size truck, possibly a Ford, asked him if he could help to find a lost puppy.

The middle aged male never exited the truck or approached the child in any way. The child walked away from the middle aged male and contacted his mother who was waiting in the parking lot for him.

The mother took the boy home, when they called and reported the incident.

Attached is a picture from a security camera. The truck in question is on the far right side of the picture.
