COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado Springs police had to use tear gas to arrest a man barricaded inside a hotel room.
The original call was for a domestic disturbance. Police said a woman reported being threatened by 45-year-old Ronald Wyckoff inside a hotel room. The woman had a protection order against the suspect.
The woman was able to leave the room before officers arrived, but Wyckoff refused to leave.
The Tactical Enforcement Unit was called in and shot tear gas into the room. Wyckoff eventually came out and was taken into custody.
Wyckoff was taken to the Criminal Justice Center, where he was booked in for a domestic violence felony assault warrant, new charges of Failure to Leave Premises upon Request of a Peace Officer, Harassment, Menacing and Violation of a Court Order, and two unrelated misdemeanor warrants.
