Police seize "dummy" bombs

There were some tense hours in northwest Pueblo this morning when possible explosive devices were found inside a house in the 2800 block of Norwich.

Sheriff's Officers went to the house to serve an eviction notice.  They found a couple of possible hand grenades, a 100 pound bomb designed to be dropped by aircraft and some artillery rounds.

The street was blocked off, the bomb squad was called and a robot was brought in.  It turned out the bomb, which is about four feet long, was designed for practice and was filled only with sand and water.  The shells were also dummy rounds and the grenades were inert, though there were signs that someone had tampered with them.

No charges were filed, but could be if it is determined the grenades were altered.
