Police seek "Shhhh" bandit

Police from Colorado Springs and Pueblo are trying to find a man believed responsible for a string of robberies since January.

The Colorado Springs Robbery Unit has labeled the robbery suspect as the "Shhh .... Don't Say Anything Bandit." It appears every time the suspect robs a Walgreen Store he puts his finger to his mouth and tells the clerk not to say anything.

The suspect didn't change his pattern when he robbed the Walgreen Store in Pueblo on Friday, March 12th. According to police reports the suspect walked into the Walgreen Store, 1811 US Hwy 50 West, at approx. 8:50 p.m. and picked up a can of Arizona Ice Tea and then walked to the front check out stand as if to pay for the tea.  Once the clerk opened the register the suspect leaned forward and whispered he had a gun and demanded her money.

The suspect is described as being a Hispanic male, approx. 40-45 years old, 5'8" tall, medium build, with wire rim glasses, a mustache and a pock-marked face.

If you have any information on the "Shhh....Don't Say Anything Bandit" you are urged to call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 542-STOP (542-7867) or visit the web site. Your information could earn you a cash reward.
