Police say alleged prostitute has AIDS

DENVER (AP) - Police say a man arrested in a sting targeting street prostitutes has AIDS.
Thirty-one-year-old Darren Garcia faces a charge of prostitution with knowledge of AIDS, a felony punishable by up to three years in prison. Police say Garcia has two prior arrests on the identical charge. Police arrested Garcia Wednesday during a sting on Colfax Avenue that resulted in at least 13 other arrests. A woman who answered the phone at a number listed for Garcia hung up without commenting.
