AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Police say a Colorado Department of Corrections employee told them he was drinking and taking painkillers hours before a car crash involving a family of three in Aurora.
Aurora police spokesman Lt. Chuck DeShazer says 38-year-old Jason Ulrich could be charged with vehicular assault if alcohol or drugs are found in his system.
Injured in the crash Saturday morning were 36-year-old Jonathan Price, his 32-year-old wife, Diane, and their 2-year-old daughter. Jonathan Price remained hospitalized but was expected to survive.
DeShazer told The Denver Post that witnesses told police they saw Ulrich weaving before the crash and investigators believe he was driving 30 miles over the speed limit at the time of the accident.
