Police make arrests in a number of copper thefts

Colorado Springs Police have made breaks in a case regarding a number of copper thefts which have occurred all over the city. Following an extensive investigation with numerous suspects being identified Colorado Springs Police Detectives set up a surveillance operation in hopes of catching the suspects red handed. During operations, two suspects were observed stripping copper wire from utility poles. With assistance from patrol officers they were able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, taking both suspects into custody. The first suspect is identified as William Carroll and the second as Alexander Aber.

Police are still conducting additional investigations and feel more arrests are pending in the rash of thefts.
