On Friday night, at close to 11 p.m., Colorado Springs police officers were dispatched to the 4000 Block of Lacy Ln, near Murray Blvd, in regards to a personal robbery.

The investigation revealed that the 17 year-old female victim was walking home when she heard someone running towards her. The victim began to turn around, when a black male in his 20's with a mustache, wearing baggy jeans, a dark colored jacket, and wearing gloves placed her in a choke hold and demanded money.

The victim struggled with the suspect for several minutes and sustained injuries during the fight. Eventually, the victim told the suspect she would give him her cash, but not her purse, and after taking the money, the suspect ran across the street, and entered the passenger side of a red minivan which drove away.

Police say that the struggle occurred on the side of the street, in plain view, as several cars drove by. Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest of the persons responsible for this brazen attack is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
