Police look for downtown assault suspects

Colorado Springs Police Officers are asking for help to find suspects wanted for attacking and robbing students from Colorado College.

On Friday December 3 at approximately 11:30 p.m., in the vicinity of the Tutt Library at 1021 N. Cascade Avenue, a CC student was approached by three young men. One male suspect asked the student for a cigarette. When the student told them "no" the student was assaulted and received minor injuries as a result of the attack.

The second incident occurred at 12:47 a.m. on Saturday December 4, also in the vicinity of the Tutt Library. One CC student was again approached by three Caucasian males and asked for a cigarette. When the student told them "no" the student was assaulted. In this case the victim fought back and was knocked to the ground. While on the ground the suspects continued to kick the victim. They removed and stole the victim's shoes and pants. The suspects also stole the victim's wallet and cell phone. The victim received minor injuries as a result of the attack.

Police believe the same three are responsible for both attacks.

The suspects are described as follows:

  • Suspect # 1- Caucasian male, around 20 years old, short brown hair, 6' to 6' 2" tall, 170 lbs, glasses, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans
  • Suspect # 2- Caucasian male, around 20 years old, short black hair, 6' to 6'4" tall, about 200 lbs
  • Suspect # 3- Caucasian male, around 20 years old, short black hair, unknown height and weight

It is possible these are the same individuals who assaulted two students in October.
