Colorado Springs Police were notified by citizens who heard a loud crash around midnight Friday night and later noted a pick up truck on the median at Grand Cordera Parkway and Happy Meadows.

When officers arrived they found that besides the truck, they found what appeared to be a significant amount of copper wire pulled from a future streetlight base.

An investigation revealed that the 1993 Ford Pickup truck was southbound on Grand Cordera Parkway in the northbound lane, when it drove onto the center median, striking a metal base for a future streetlight. Police were also able to determine that the truck had been reported stolen from a location on Westmoreland Road at around 2:00am.
