Police arrests man and seizes almost 3 pounds of marijuana

Colorado Springs, CO - On Thursday morning around 1:45a.m, a CSPD officer observed a vehicle traveling westbound on E. Fountain Blvd approaching S. Circle Drive. The vehicle did not stop for a red traffic light before turning on to northbound S. Circle Dr. so the officer initiated a traffic stop in the 200 block of S. Circle Drive.
As the officer began to approach the vehicle to contact the driver, a male passenger exited the vehicle and began to run southbound. Once the driver was detained, other officers began to check the area for the passenger, but he was not found.
Officers did find a large plastic bag that the passenger had dropped. This bag contained several gallon sized bags that contained suspected marijuana.
Officers searched his vehicle and found additional gallon sized bags that contained suspected marijuana. Officers recovered a total of approximately 2.98 pounds of marijuana.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 36 years-old Javar Harrison, was arrested for DUI and other traffic charges, as well as Offenses Relating to marijuana.
