Police from Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs are investigating two armed robberies that occurred early Friday morning.

Shortly after 3:00 A.M. the clerk at the 7 Eleven store located at 339 Manitou Ave reported to police that a man wearing a white and black bandanna and sunglasses came into the store, showed a gun and demanded money. Two other men then came in, jumped over the counter and tried to get into the safe.

The suspects were last seen running west from the store with an undetermined amount of money.

Three hours later, another 7 Eleven store in Colorado Springs was also robbed. The store clerk at the 2407 N. Union Blvd location reported that just before 6:00 A.M. a white male suspect walked into the store wearing a bandanna covering his face, demanding cash. The suspect showed the store clerk that he had a gun as he made his demands.

The lone suspect was last seen fleeing south-east.
