COLORADO SPRINGS (AP) - One of six men charged after a fatal shooting outside a Colorado Springs motorcycle clubhouse has pleaded guilty to evidence tampering.
The Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/VFdoJr) DeAngelo Michael Wells is expected to serve probation under terms of his plea agreement. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 10.
Wells was charged after the slaying in March of Virgil Means outside the Sin City Disciples motorcycle club.
Five other men including Fort Carson soldier Christopher Mountjoy are awaiting trial in the case. Mountjoy is charged with first-degree murder on accusations that he fired the fatal bullet. His attorney Cindy Hyatt has indicated she intends to argue the Afghanistan war veteran was suffering the effects of post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury. Mountjoy's trial is scheduled for February.
