Pinon Truck Stop closes

Pinon Truck Stop, also known as the Rocky Mountain Travel Center, which has served truckers and motorists for nearly five decades, has closed.
After battling soaring costs, declining profits and trouble getting bank loans, the popular I-25 stop turned off its pumps, shut down the cafe and closed the doors for good.
It was open for 47 years in what was once the town of Pinon between Pueblo and Colorado Springs. The surprise closing yesterday left forty out of work.
