Pine Creek pitcher named "Loaf 'N Jug Athlete of the Week"

This week's "Loaf ‘N Jug High School Athlete of the Week" spends a good part of the spring on the baseball diamond. Congratulations to Pine Creek shortstop and pitcher Derek Skrdlant.
Derek has the lowest ERA in the Colorado Springs 5A Metro League and is third in the state. He also leads the Metro League in strike outs and has pitched two complete games this season. When he's not on the mound he plays shortstop. At the plate his on-base percentage is third in the league.
In the classroom Derek carries a 4.0 grade point average and will attend the Colorado School of Mines next year on a baseball scholarship.
