One of the largest auto dealerships in the state is buying one of the oldest. Phil Long Dealerships is purchasing Daniels in a deal that will keep owner Elizabeth Daniels as a partner in the business.
General Motors still have to approve the deal, but if they do, the company will be named Daniels-Long Chevrolet.
All 60 employees at Daniels will reportedly remain there. Daniels was one of more than 1,300 General Motors dealerships that was supposed to lose its affiliation with G.M. But Daniels appealed that decision and G.M. agreed Daniels could remain a Chevy dealer.
Daniels has been in operation in Colorado Springs since 1929.
