Peterson repairing wind-damaged hangar

Peterson Air Force Base is repairing the roof of a hangar that was heavily damaged by high winds last month.
About half the hangar's roof was torn off on May 25. The Air Force estimates the damage at $140,000.
Two single-engine civilian planes belonging to the Peterson Air Force Base Aero Club were also damaged. Bob Jerman, the club's senior flight instructor, says one of the planes may be a total loss. The other has been repaired and is back in service. No injuries were reported.
The new roof will have an extra layer of wood and a rubber cover to protect against similar storms. It's expected to be complete by June 30.
