Peterson AFB plans homecoming for deployed soldiers

Eight soldiers from the Colorado Army National Guard are returning home after a nine-month deployment in Bahrain. A homecoming ceremony is planned Friday at Peterson Air Force Base.

The soldiers are members of Commercial Imagery Team 4 from the Colorado Guard's 117th Space Battalion. The unit provided commercial satellite imagery for military and diplomatic operations in the U.S. Central Command. The images were used in flood relief in Pakistan and anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, among other things.
