Pet Daycare offered at Disaster Recovery Center

North Shore Animal League America and National Mill Dog Rescue continue to offer services for pets displaced by the Waldo Canyon Fire.

A 45-foot self-contained Mobile Rescue Unit is stationed at the El Paso County Disaster Recovery Center at 105 North Spruce St, Colorado Springs.

Available services for Tuesday, July 3:

The Mobile Rescue Unit will be available for:

  • Pet Daycare from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily
  • Overnight pet services
  • Pet-Sitting while fire evacuees are meeting with representatives in the El Paso Disaster Recover Center
  • Supplies are also being distributed, including cat and dog food, cat litter and other pet supplies
  • NSALA and NMDR Rescue Experts will provide Pet Safety Tips as evacuees return to their homes to ensure the safety of their pets

 

Purina ONE and the Kong Company who have pledged 1,000 Kong Toys to be distributed to the Waldo Canyon fire evacuees and their pets. Financial contributions also came from The Cesar Millan Foundation's Daddy's Emergency Animal Rescue Fund in support of the Animal League's emergency response efforts.
