There's preliminary evidence that consuming peppers, tomatoes and other vegetables in the same plant family may help reduce the risk for Parkinson's disease.
The study from the University of Washington in Seattle included more than 1,100 participants.
Nearly half had been diagnosed with Parkinson's.
A diet abundant in peppers seemed to have a protective effect, but more studies are needed.
