Penrose-St. Francis expanding visitor restrictions

As the H1N1 swine flu continues to spread through Southern Colorado, Penrose-St. Francis is expanding its restrictions on visitors. Effective Friday, all Penrose-St. Francis Health facilities will ban visitors 17 and under, including siblings.

This is in addition to the previous restrictions for no sick visitors, adult visitors limited to four per room, and other special precautions. Pregnant women and people with weak immune systems are advised to stay away altogether.

Hospitals hroughout Colorado are restricting visitors as the swine flu death toll mounts.

Wednesday the state health department announced that 14 people have died from H1N1, including 6 children. Two deaths have been announced in Pueblo in the last week.
