The man suspected of being responsible for a string of rapes in as many as six states, was sentenced Friday in the original case against him.
Robert Bruce was sentenced in Pueblo to two and a half years in jail for watching a woman through her window in 2007. He was charged by a police officer who observed the incident. He didn't show up for his trial and that same day someone tried to blow up the house of that same officer. Bruce was then charged with attempted murder for allegedly planting a leaking propane tank in the officer's garage.
Later, DNA samples linked him to a series of rapes in New Mexico and other states, as well as an unsolved rape in Pueblo from 2006.
In the Peeping Tom case he was sentenced to two and a half years in jail. He still faces attempted murder and rape charges in Pueblo.
