DENVER (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was killed by a city bus in Denver.
Police spokesman John White tells The Denver Post the pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was running for the rear passenger door as the Regional Transportation bus was departing, lost footing and fell under a rear tire.
The accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Friday near Alameda Avenue and South Knox Court in the southwestern part of the city.
White says police are investigating whether alcohol use was involved in the accident, which forced the closure of eastbound Alameda for several hours.
