A celebration for our hometown heroes brought hundreds of people to Mountain Shadows Park in Colorado Springs.

The Patriots' Festival raised money for organizations of local first responders. The Ride for Heroes included a 28-mile Heroes CHallenge Ride and a 14-mile Patriot's Ride that started at 8 a.m. Kids decorated their bikes in red, white and blue.

First responders were happy to get out and interact with the community.

"It's just another way that our community supports us. It's a beautiful day out here in Colorado Springs and it's just amazing to see all these little kids smiling and running up to you and giving you a hug," said CSFD firefighter Chris Weaver.
