Patient at Mental Health Institute charged with attempted murder

A patient at the Colorado Mental Health Institute has been charged with attempted murder in an attack this morning in one of the hospital wards.

Lamar Davis, 29, was booked into Pueblo County Jail today.  The Mental Health Institute confirmed an incident between two patients this morning, but would give no other details.  Inside sources indicated a male patient attacked a female patient around 6 a.m.

Davis was judged not guilty by reason of insanity for making obscene threats over the phone out of Adams County in 2004.

He's being held without bond at the Pueblo County Jail.
