Passenger hospitalized in suspected drunk driving accident

A Colorado Springs man is in jail and his passenger is in the hospital in a suspected of driving drunk accident that happened along Interstate-25 near the Fillmore Street exit early Saturday morning.

Investigators with the police department's Major Accident Unit arrested Jason Warren, 30, of Colorado Springs for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Patrick Warren, 25, also of Colorado Springs was taken to the hospital with a broken hip.

Officers say at around 2:00 a.m. Warren wrecked his 1979 Honda Accord into the back of a 2003 Ford F250 as it was stopped on the shoulder of the northbound lanes. The pick-up's driver, 26 year-old Ryan Kelly of Aurora, had pulled over to help a pedestrian that was walking on the highway.

The pedestrian, 26 year-old Matthew Munoz of Raton, New Mexico was not injured in the accident but was ticketed for walking on the Interstate.
