GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) - Jefferson County officials say a jail inmate being held on a parole violation has been mistakenly released.
The sheriff's department says 40-year-old Damon Elliot Slayton was freed Tuesday morning.
Slayton was being held for the state Department of Corrections. The original charges against him were theft, burglary and robbery.
He is 5'10" tall and about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white T-shift and black pants.
Slayton has tattoos on his arms. One is a snake and another is boxing gloves with the letters "K.O."
The sheriff's department says no foul play is suspected in Slayton's release but an investigation is underway.
Anyone who sees Slayton, is asked to call 911.
