FAIRPLAY, Colo. (AP) - The owners of six horses are facing animal cruelty charges after the horses were seized by authorities for lack of care.
The Park County Sheriff's Office says it got a complaint that a horse had died at the Echo Valley Ranch. The cause of death was listed as an infection that required veterinary care.
The sheriff's office says it has received a number of calls from people offering to help the horses.
The owners were not identified.
