Palmer Ridge lacrosse player is this week's "Athlete of the Week"

For the first time ever a lacrosse player has earned "Loaf ‘N Jug High School Athlete of the Week" honors. Congratulations to Shannon Bryant from the Palmer Ridge girls Lacrosse Team.

Shannon is a junior at Palmer Ridge in Monument and is truly the definition of a team players. She led not only her team, but the entire conference with 18 assists in 15 games this season. She also had 36 goals. Palmer ridge finished the season with a 10-5 record and is currently waiting to see they they'll get a wild card bid to the state playoffs.

The humble Shannon told News First 5's Jordan mason she loves lacrosse and loves to see the popularity of the sport grow. Shannon said, "We're getting the younger kids into it. Elementary schools are playing. I'm a referee and I get to see them play, that's really neat."

Shannon also has a grade point average of 3.4, volunteers at a soup kitchen and is involved in her youth group.
