The Tucson Padres outdueled the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and won just their second game in seven tries against the Sox as they won 3-1 on Monday night at Security Service Field in front of 1,703 fans.

Jorge Reyes (4-6) picked up the victory for the Padres after tossing six shutout innings while giving up six hits, two walks and striking out two. Only one of those hits was for extra bases, a Chad Tracy double in the second inning.

Carlos Torres (2-2) was the tough-luck loser for the Sky Sox as he threw five solid innings. He surrendered just one unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out a season-high tying six batters.

Tucson got on the board in the fourth inning after Jedd Gyorko reached on an error by shortstop Brandon Woods to start the inning and then scored on a RBI double by catcher Yasmani Grandal who was just optioned down by the parent club Padres before the game. The Padres added two insurance runs in the eighth off reliever Joe Torres on a two-run double by Gyorko.

The lone run for the Sox came in the bottom of the eighth. Tim Wheeler singled to start the inning and later scored on a wild pitch by Erik Hamren.

The final game of the four-game series is set for tomorrow night as the Sky Sox send out RH Rob Scahill (3-6, 5.27) to face LH Colt Hynes (1-6, 5.26). Game time is set for 7:05 PM for the Sky Sox $2 Tuesday.
