The mystery of how a young llama got loose on Colorado's Pikes Peak has been solved.
Tracy Ducharme, who captured the llama last week, says the owner came forward to say the animal had run away from a nearby ranch on Aug. 14 when its mother was killed by a mountain lion.
The owner, Theresa Kabot, told Ducharme she couldn't find the youngster. It turns out he wandered up Pikes Peak and spent a month near the top.
Kabot was in Seattle when she saw news accounts and called Ducharme. Kabot sent a photo to verify her claim.
Ducharme dubbed him Homer "because of his little odyssey" - referring to the classic Greek poet Homer's "Odyssey."
Kabot had named him "Kramer," but Ducharme thinks "Homer" will stick.
