Overnight shooting now homicide investigation

As reported earlier, Colorado Springs Police responded to a disturbance call at 916 South 25th Street at approximately 2:03a.m. this morning. As they arrived they found a man laying in the street. When they approached the man they observed that the man had been shot.

Officers worked by providing CPR until paramedics arrived and transported the man to Memorial Hospital where the man was later pronounced deceased from his wounds.

During this time officers have been collecting statements from several eye witnesses at the scene as well as those who were at the hospital.

The CSPD Major Crimes Homicide Unit was called to the scene to conduct an investigation. It is still very early in the investigation and the details of this case are still being discovered.
