Otter update: Fresh Kitchi tracks discovered

The great escape artist from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo--Kitchi, an American river otter--is still living large in the Cheyenne Meadows area.

Trackers from the zoo fanned out Wednesday to search for tracks in today's fresh snowfall. What they found was otter tracks in the mud  near a spot where Westmeadow Drive crosses over a culvert, adjacent to the Cheyenne Meadows' King Soopers. The trackers are certain that the tracks were made within the past few days.

Residents of the area are encouraged to keep an eye out for the 20 pound otter. Here's the Otter Hotline: 648-7348.
