Otero County GOP facing fines for finance reports

LA JUNTA, Colo. (AP) - Secretary of State records show the Otero County Republican Party faces about $50,800 in fines for not filing any campaign finance reports in 2010.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported Sunday that the fines against the Otero County Republican Central Committee in southeastern Colorado are growing by $300 a day for failing to file the reports.
Otero County GOP Chair Judy Reyher says the group's treasurer has been trying for more than a year to file the reports online and that "there's no way to file them."
The Larimer County Republican Party also is facing a big fine for not filing campaign finance reports in 2010. It faces a fine of $48,700 but the group is trying to get the fine waived or reduced.
