As we first told you Saturday night, several voters in Pueblo are claiming they received two ballots.
The Secretary of State is calling for an investigation, and Sunday the Clerk and Recorder spoke out saying this will not affect election results.
Out of 59,000 ballots sent out in Pueblo County, they've discovered about 200 that may be doubles.
Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz tells us it happens everywhere, and not only can they find these double ballots, it also shouldn't affect election results.
Double ballots happen all over Colorado when people re-register to vote, according to Ortiz.
"There is a possibility statewide for that person to become registered again, so this can happen in any county at any time," said Ortiz.
He says it comes down to the form, which needs the new and old information, whether you've changed your name or address or want to change your party affiliation.
"They have to include all of their information, so we can look back into their voter history and correct and bring their voter registration up-to-date," said Ortiz
Otherwise, they might be seen as a new voter.
Two-hundred voters in Pueblo County may have been doubled-up this time around.
"Whether their ballot is going to be counted twice or two different ballots are going to be counted, that's not going to happen," said Ortiz.
That's because Ortiz says the system can catch double information, inform them, and void the ballot.
"We are going to catch if somebody tries to vote twice," said Ortiz "We are going to find that out."
Only the first ballot will be counted, and if you are caught trying to vote twice, by law Ortiz says they have to submit you for investigation.
"We rely on the citizens to be truthful and honorable when they get those kinds of things," said Ortiz. "Inform our office, so we can make sure this doesn't happen again."
Ortiz adds he stands by Pueblo County's voter integrity, but as we reported Saturday night, the Secretary of State says he wants an investigation into how this happened and what may come of it.
