Organizers hope to get young voters to participate in forum

Springs Vision Forum is organizing an online mayor forum for Monday night.  Made up of young professionals, they are hoping to energize the 18 to 35-year-olds and get them to participate in the forum and then get them to vote.

"We having an actual real-time dialog, and that to me is something that's very important, because what that does is it builds relationships," says Tucker Wannamaker, forum organizer.

Wannamaker says the 18-35 age group had the lowest turnout in April's election.  He says he hopes by using social media and the internet, it'll generate interest and participation of that age group in this election.

The mayor election is May 17.  You must have your mail-in ballot turned in to the City Clerk's office by 7 p.m. that day.
