One week later: still no arrest in Colorado Springs homicide

Were continuing to follow the latest in a deadly shooting that happened last week in the Springs. The victim's family tells News First 5, that they are upset an arrest hasn't been made in connection with their son's death.

Police say 35 year old Franklin Ybanez was found shot to death, in the front yard of a home on Hackamore Dr., that's near Academy and Flintridge. Police say he was killed after an argument, but haven't said who that argument was with.

The victim's mom, Charlotte Neville, lives in Tennessee. She says her son had been fighting with his father, her ex-husband, Gary Ybanez. Neville says she has no doubt that he killed her son, and is frustrated an arrest hasn't been made, "I don't understand why this man is walking around free, it breaks my heart because nobody was there to defend my son when he got shot and nobody's there to defend him now when he's dead."

We also talked to Colorado Springs Police about the latest in the case. They say they are actively investigating and they have brought in at least one person for questioning. They won't say who that person is. They are waiting for the District Attorney to review the facts in the case, before they can move forward with an arrest.
