Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says one person has died from fire related causes.
The fire started around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon in the mountains west of Denver. At least 900 homes near the Highlands Ranch area have been evacauted. It's south of Aspen Creek in an area known as Reynolds Ranch.
The sheriff's department has tweeted they will continue to focus on protecting structures overnight. They say the fire is not completely contained at this time.
Some structure have been destroyed, but it is not clear exactly how many. At least 3,000 acres have been burned.
