A deadly shooting in Colorado Springs last night has netted an arrest by police, but many questions remain. Investigators tell us 2 men and a woman came to a home on the 300 block of East Las Vegas Thursday night when an argument began. "At some point while they're inside the home there was an altercation." explains Sgt. Steve Noblitt with the Colorado Springs Police Department, "Then there's a shot fired which ultimately ends in the death of one of the males who came to visit." Investigators believe the resident of the home was the one who shot the man.
After the shooting this truck sped off and broke down at the intersection of Cimarron and Nevada where police caught up with 19 year old Ryan Santistevan and a 22 year old woman. "They were ultimately able to determine that the two parties in the pickup were originally at the location." says Noblitt.
Santisteven has been charged with Attempted Aggravated Robbery. At this point police are not charging the home's resident in the shooting. It appears to be self defense. "There's evidence to indicate he put the home owner in a deadly force type situation." says Noblitt. The 22 year old woman with Santistevan was arrested on outstanding warrants. The identity of the man killed in the shooting has not been released.
