Colorado State Patrol troopers are investigating a fatal accident that took one life on Prowers County Road N, just 16 miles south of the town of Holly. CSP states that a 2002 Ford Ranger driven by 52 year old Michael Barth was traveling westbound on County Road N when it spun off the left side of the road, rolling and coming to rest in a field.
It is reported that Bart was not wearing his seat belts and was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. Barth was transported to Prowers Medical Center in Lamar where he later died as a result of his injuries. Barth was a resident of Holly.
The CSP states that alcohol and excessive speed are possible contributors to the accident.
