A former director of the Pueblo Goodwill still faces three felony counts, but a more serious theft charge was dropped this morning.

Debra Diaz was fired earlier this year after board members noticed bookkeeping problems. She was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Pueblo District Court today, but instead the most serious charge, theft of over $20,000, was dropped.

The other three charges, all theft of $1,000 to $20,000, are Class 4 Felonies. That means no preliminary hearing is needed. Diaz will next be in court in two weeks, when a trial date is expected to be set.
