On Valentine's day get close to your partner by giving a skin exam

The skin cancer foundation is encouraging couples to take time this Valentine's Day to perform skin cancer checks on each other. According to a recent study, it seems a loving relationship could better catch a potential problem.

The study from Northwestern University found couples with close bonds are three times more likely to perform skin exams, because they are less self-conscious. Experts recommend partners check each other's scalp and back to catch problems you may not see yourself.

Any skin growth that has changed in color, size, or texture -- or has an irregular border -- should be seen by a doctor.
