Officers witnessed deadly auto-pedestrian accident on 8th St.

COLORADO SPRINGS - Three officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department witnessed a deadly auto-pedestrian accident along S. 8th Street just after 10:15 p.m. Sunday.
The victim was struck by a Jeep as it was headed north on 8th between Abbott Ln and Moreno Avenue. Officers on the scene tell News 5 drivers should expect the area road to be closed for the next 3 hours.
The police department's Gold Hills Substation is Located on Moreno about a block away from the accident scene.
