Officers from all over city respond to large fight at downtown night club

It was near closing time for downtown bars and clubs when Colorado Springs Police Officers observed a large fight in front of Sodo's Night Club at 527 S. Tejon Street. Officers state they observed approximately 40 people involved and called for additional back-up to disperse the crowd and sort out the disturbance. An additional 14 officers were brought in from throughout the city to control the scene.

As officers were arriving, a 20 year old man approached the officers claiming he had been assaulted while still inside of the night club. The man had multiple injuries to his face and arms that were apparent to the officers. He was later transported for treatment to a local hospital with non-life threatening wounds.

Before the officers could contact the suspects identified by the victim, it was learned that the suspects had fled the scene. Police are continuing to investigate the assault and one arrest was made for the disturbance unrelated to the assault.
